Add emergency contacts to your Pack. Alert your Pack when you're in danger.
Alert your Pack Manually
Open the app, go to the Alert in the bottom right tab bar, tap the red “Alert Pack” button at the bottom of the Emergency Alert Screen.
If you upgraded to 24/7 Safety, which complements the Emergency Alert, you can alert either Police, Fire, or EMS at the same time as your Pack. By default, the Police are selected. To change this, tap the desired first responder, and then tap “Alert Pack”.
By default, the siren, meant to deter harassers and attract attention, will sound from your phone. You can turn this off before you send the alert or afterward in preferences.
Each member of your Pack will be sent an SMS, email, and push notification in the app saying that you need emergency assistance. They will be able to get your GPS coordinates, call you, and call your local police. To coordinate help, Pack members can message each other using Pack Chat.
Alert your Pack with your Voice Assistant
Using the Howl Alexa Skill
From the Alexa App menu, select Skills & Games.
Find the skill Howl Alert, and then select it to open the skill detail page.
Select Enable Skill, or ask Alexa to open the skill.
You will be prompted to sign in to Howl with your username and password.
Using Google Assistant Action
On your phone or tablet, open the Google app.
Say “Ok Google, Alert Pack” or tap Speak and say “Alert Pack”.
You will be prompted to sign in to Howl Alert with you Username and Password.
Cancel your Emergency Alert
You are allowed to have several alerts at one time. To cancel your alert, tap on the "Alerts" option in your Emergency Alert preferences, select the active alert, and tap the grey Cancel button at the bottom of the Emergency Alert screen. It will prompt you to enter your 4-digit Cancel Code.
This is the 4-digit code you entered when you created your Howl account. You can find this code by going to: Profile > Account Details > Cancel Code
Pack members will be notified that your Emergency Alert has been canceled.
Add emergency contacts to your Pack. This can include family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, or anyone who could help you if you’re in trouble.
Create and join groups to connect with your neighbors and solve issues in your area.
What is "My Community" group?
This is a group of people who live in the same area, defined by sharing the same zip code. If you have a local issue that you want to keep among your neighbors, this is the place to share and get help with it.
Post to a Group
Tap on the group.
Tap "Share something".
Join a Group
Tap on the search bar in the Groups page.
Search by group name, then tap "Join".
