Add emergency contacts to your Pack. Alert your Pack when you're in danger.

How to alert your Pack manually
  • Open the app, go to "My Pack" in the bottom right tab bar, and use the "Send Alert" slider at the top of the screen to alert your Pack. The slider will only appear once you have at least one person in your Pack.
  • If you added a Live Agent to your Pack, after sending an alert you would receive an immediate phone call from a Howl dispatch agent asking if you are in need of Police, Medical, or Fire assistance. The agent will call twice. If you don't answer either time then they will automatically send Police to the location from which you sent the alert.
  • By default, the siren's volume, meant to deter harassers and attract attention, will be off. You can turn this on before you send the alert or afterward in Alert details. 
  • Each member of your Pack will be sent an SMS, email, and push notification in the app saying that you need emergency assistance. They will be able to get your GPS coordinates, call you, and call your local police. To coordinate help, Pack members can message each other using Pack Chat. 
How to alert your Pack using a voice assistant
Howl Alexa Skill
  1. From the Alexa App menu, select Skills & Games.
  2. Find the skill Howl Alert, and then select it to open the skill detail page.
  3. Select Enable Skill, or ask Alexa to open the skill.
  4. You will be prompted to sign in to Howl with your username and password.
Google Assistant Action
  1. On your phone or tablet, open the Google app.
  2. Say “Ok Google, Alert Pack” or tap Speak and say “Alert Pack”.
  3. You will be prompted to sign in to Howl Alert with you Username and Password.
How to cancel your alert
  1. To cancel your alert, tap the grey Cancel button at the bottom of the Alert screen. It will prompt you to enter your 4-digit Cancellation Code.
  2. Pack members will be notified that your alert has been canceled.
  3. By default your Cancellation Code is the last 4 digits of the phone number you entered during sign up. You are able to change this code in: Profile > Settings. We encourage you customize your Cancellation Code after sign up and make it easy to remember.

Create and join groups to connect with your neighbors and solve issues in your area.

What is My Street?
  • This is an exclusive and private group of people who live on your street. You're automatically placed in your street group when you sign up for Howl. You aren't able to join another street group or leave your current street group.
What is "My Town"?
  • This is a group of people who live in the same area, defined by sharing the same zip code. If you have a local issue that you want to keep among your neighbors, this is the place to share and get help with it.
Post to a Group
  1. Tap on the group.
  2. Tap "Share something".
Join a Group
  1. Tap on the search bar in the Groups page.
  2. Search by group name, then tap "Join".
Create a group
  1. Tap on the the plus icon in the navigation bar in the Groups tab.
  2. Fill out your groups info and tap Create.
